From then on, the game was introduced to various casinos in 1967, but the 7-card stud poker still reigned in popularity. However, texas holdem poker was not much popularised for a few decades until the 21st century, when the game was often exposed to the people though the television, the internet and other forms of popular culture.

Objective of the Game As with any other poker variants, the objective of the players of the Texas holdem poker is to pocket the money at the centre of the table (pot). The pot size is controlled by the players who bet based on their confidence on their cards, because there is an unexpected outcome from the cards to be dealt.

The Flow of the Game Each player in the texas holdem poker is given two cards. The betting round begins, and this is when players bet in accordance to their judgment on their hands. Then, the dealer exposes the first three cards (the flop) and another betting round follows. As each of the remaining two cards is dealt, betting rounds are done among the players. The final and fifth card, the river, determines the overall results of the player's hands. The player who wins at the showdown gets the whole pot size.

Rules The betting rounds of the texas holdem poker involve initial or "forced" bets, which are the blinds. As the game progresses, players are required to place a bet on the pot. The minimum bet is placed first, and when someone is willing to raise the stakes, the "raised" amount becomes the minimum bet, and needs to be "called" or "raised". If the player does not want to involve himself further in the game, he or she opts to fold and loses the chance for the pot.

The player whose card is the highest five-card combination rank wins. In the absence of combinations, any card that contains the highest value is the winner. The highest single-card value in texas holdem poker is the ace of diamonds. Texas holdem poker has been widely played in casinos and online poker rooms. The game is labelled as one of the most challenging card games, as one it takes a huge amount of skill in order to win the stakes.
